"There is nowhere we cannot pray if we commit ourselves to it"
Brother Andrew - And God Changed His Mind

The TEN COMMANDMENTS
Exodus 20:1-17
Then God spoke all these words, saying,
2 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
3 You shall have no other gods besides Me.
4 You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any like- ness of what is in heaven above or on earth beneath or in the water under the earth.
5 You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the four fourth generations of those who hate Me,
6 but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
7 You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
10 but the seventh day is a sabbath of the Lord your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male servant or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you.
11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the lord blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.
12 Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the Lord your God gives you.
13 You shall not murder.
14 You shall not commit adultery.
15 You shall not steal.
16 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
17 You shall not covet you neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife or his male servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor."

Dial-A-Prayer Ministry Celebrating 52nd Year

Thanksgiving 2007, the Dial-A-Prayer ministry celebrated its 52nd Anniversary of continuous operation.
Reverend Dr. Richard R. Schwambach has faithfully led the ministry throughout the 52 years. You may hear his latest prayer by calling the prayer line at 812-473-7729.

You are also invited to attend Pastor's Bible Fellowship Hour, which is somewhere between a real church service and a large Sunday School class. Bible Fellowship Hour begins approximately 10:30 a.m. Sunday mornings in Room 108 at Bethel Temple. Join over one hundred class members for music, singing, prayer, teaching, mission reports and a few surprises now and then. (The service rarely goes more than 55 minutes). Pastor R.R. Schwambach often teaches the class and I'm sure he'll be glad to meet you.

What Can One Do?
Not Much – Unless God…

For me, Psalm 1:1-3 is foundational. “Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by steams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.”

Someone has written that there are more than 10,000 promises for Believers in God’s Word. There may be more. I suggest you read, perhaps again, for your own spiritual enrichment, 1 Kings 8:56; Romans 4:21; 2 Corinthians 1:20; 2 Peter 1:4; 1 John 2:25; 2 Peter 1:4; Psalm 30:5; Psalm 34:19; Isaiah 43:2; John 14:1-3; Romans 8:28; Rev. 21:4; Psalm 37:3; Mark 9:23; and John 1:12. I have shouted over David’s words in Psalm 37:25 and Jeremiah 29:11.

The Lord promised in Isaiah 60:22 “…a little one will become a thousand.” Remember in Genesis how Joseph went down into Egypt a slave and his posterity came out a multitude. Jesus’ disciples were few but their message became a mighty force and power for Christianity, then – and now!

So what are we to do?

1. DEPEND UPON GOD! “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength”– Isaiah 40:31. It’s all in Him! What He wants of you now, you can do.
2. DEDICATE (rededicate) YOUR TALENTS TO HIM! You say you have so little with which to serve God. God asks, “What is that in your hand?” You remember! Moses had a rod and it became a wand. David had a sling and used it to slay a giant. A little lad had a lunch and Jesus used it to feed a multitude.

A little talent, unnoticed by others, almost forgotten by you, can be multiplied, if it is dedicated to Him! It will be something you will enjoy, once you’ve begun.
3. DILIGENCE IN WORK! (Constancy, everlastingly at it) God requires us to sow, if we would reap (Galations 6:7). Thomas Edison was thought to be a genius, but he and his co-workers were everlasting at it! Concerning the discovery of the electric light bulb, he said, “We now know more than 5,000 ways it will not work.” God says in Galations 6:7 that “we will reap if we faint not.”
4. DEATH TO SELF! The way to lasting success is DOWN, not up. God looks for men and women who will die to self and respond to the work HE wants them to do. It will be something they are able to do and they will be blessed. Jesus said in John 12:24, “Except a corn of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it abides alone; but if it dies, it brings forth much fruit.”

Andrew brought Simon Peter to Jesus and 3,000 were saved in one day. Andrew told about a little boy who offered to share his five loaves and two small fish. The little boy gave what he had to Jesus. Jesus blessed it, broke it and fed a multitude.
Will you say to the Lord, “Here are my loaves and fishes. This is what I can do. Jesus, take them and use me for Your glory.”?

Thanksgiving Eve 2007, the Dial-A-Prayer ministry reached its 52nd anniversary. Because of the Dial-A-Prayer (812-473-PRAY) ministry, people have been Saved, suicides prevented, and the discouraged encouraged and inspired to TRUST GOD, regardless!
Thanksgiving 2007 Dial-A-Prayer Celebrates 52 years of Ministry

For me, part of my daily schedule includes preparing and recording the prayers. Others have started similar local ministries, but before long, they gave up. Among the reasons (such as ministers moving to other churches,) they discovered it is a ministry that does not carry its own weight financially.

I felt impressed to initiate this ministry 52 years ago and God has not released me from this commitment, yet. We have worn out a number of recording machines. In recent years, we have purchased digital recording equipment and people may leave a request for specific needs. The prayer requests have been distributed to our Dial-A-Prayer, Prayer Group and today, 20-30 people receive these requests in our Lay-Led Tuesday Morning Intercessory Prayer Group in the Prayer Garden. Only God knows how many prayers have been answered, but weekly, I do hear of answered prayer, for which we are grateful.

Deuteronomy 28
Blessings for Obedience
1 If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.
2 All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God:
3 You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.
4 The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock-the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.
5 Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.
6 You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.
7 The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.
8 The LORD will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The LORD your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.
9 The LORD will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the LORD your God and walk in his ways.
10 Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the LORD , and they will fear you. 11 The LORD will grant you abundant prosperity-in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground-in the land he swore to your forefathers to give you.
12 The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.
13 The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.
14 Do not turn aside from any of the commands I give you today, to the right or to the left, following other gods and serving them.
